James Cameron Drops New Avatar 2 Concept Art at CES 2020

It may take some time yet, but Avatar fans can already start preparing their journey back to Pandora. In the recent presentation at CES 2020 in Las Vegas, the father of the Avatar franchise James Cameron has revealed new concept art for the upcoming Avatar 2. The Avatar 2 concept art features the iconic Na’vi dealing with some of their characteristic activities. Among them, fishing and riding the impressive flying creatures of Pandora. It also appears that the planet itself will hold some surprises. From the newly-released photos, there are many more places that we haven’t seen yet, such as the mysterious flourishing islands.

Meanwhile, Cameron has recently declared himself pretty confident that the Avatar re-release will top Avengers: Endgame as the highest box-office success ever.

The new cast of the Avatar franchise includes Kate Winslet, Edie Falco, Michelle Yeoh, Vin Diesel, as well as Jemaine Clement and Oona Chaplin alongside a slate of young actors. Returning cast members include Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, Stephen Lang, as well as Matt Gerald and Sigourney Weaver.

Cameron has said that Stephen Lang’s Colonel Miles Quaritch is coming back for all four sequels and will be the main villain throughout the story. Filming officially started on Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 on September 25, 2017. Post-production began on April 18, 2019.
