Longtime X-Men Producer Hutch Parker Joins Venom 2 Team

The Venom 2 producing team has added a heavy hitter to its ranks with producer Hutch Parker set to join  Avi Arad, Amy Pascal, and Matt Tolmach on the project.  This isn’t Parker’s first foray into the superhero realm, as he worked extensively on the X-Men franchise starting with 2013’s The WolverineX-Men: Days of Future PastX-Men: ApocalypseLoganDark Phoenix, plus the Fantastic Four reboot.

Andy Serkis will direct Venom 2, marking his first foray in directing a comic book feature after appearing in two Marvel Studios movies. Venom 2 will mark the third feature film Serkis will tackle as director following Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, which released on Netflix last year. Production on the film is expected to begin in November.

Tom Hardy will reprise his role as Eddie Brock in the film alongside Michelle Williams as Anne Weying. Woody Harrelson will also appear as Cletus Kasady, aka Carnage, a showdown set up in a post-credit scene in the first film.

Venom amassed an enormous $855 million worldwide during its box office run despite negative reviews and a so-so response from fans (form your own opinion by picking the film up here).

Venom 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on October 2, 2020.
