The Netflix original series joined three other live-action (now canceled) series, including Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Luke Cage and Marvel’s Iron Fist. Collectively, these led to the teaming of the main characters in Marvel’s The Defenders. Marvel’s Jessica Jones took a suspenseful look into the life of Jessica Jones, played by Krysten Ritter. Jones works as a private investigator while she deals with internal and external demons. Furthermore, the first season received a prestigious Peabody Award.
In the second season, Jones began to put her life back together after murdering her tormenter, Kilgrave (David Tennant). Jessica’s now known throughout the city as a super-powered killer. Then a new case makes her reluctantly confront who she really is. All while digging deeper into her past to explore the reasons why.
Krysten Ritter leads a returning cast that includes Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker), Carrie-Anne Moss (Jeri Hogarth), and Eka Darville (Malcolm Ducasse).
Marvel’s Jessica Jones series showrunner Melissa Rosenberg (Twilight, Dexter) executive produces, with Raelle Tucker (True Blood), Jim Chory, and Jeph Loeb, who additionally also serves as Marvel’s Head of Television.
