Dave Bautista talks desire for ‘Good Roles,’ disinterest in other franchises
Dave Bautista’s future in the MCU may be a question mark at the moment, yet his acting career isn’t taking a break. The wrestler turned actor has a very clear ideas regarding his future in acting, with Bautista saying he wants to gain more credibility as a character actor and expressing his desire to “work with Academy Awards winners”.
“I want good roles. I don’t care about Fast and Furious or Bumblebee,” Bautista told the Tampa Bay Times. “That’s not the kind of stardom I want. … I want to be in Dune. I want to work with Denis Villeneuve. I want to work with Sam Mendes and Jodie Foster. I want to work with Academy Award winners. I’m proud to be a character actor. I want that respect and credibility and education.”
Even though the future of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 remains slightly up in the air, Bautista will make an appearance in Avengers: Endgame later in April as Drax. Additionally, he has joined Denis Villeneuve’s Dune cast as “Beast” Rabban. The duo previously worked together in Blade Runner 2049.
Dune will debut in theaters on November 20, 2020. Which Academy Awards winner would you like to watch Batista acting with? Sound off in the comments section below.
