With Wonder Woman‘s first-ever feature film set for release the same month, the DC Comics June 2017 solicitations include a Steve Trevor special. Chris Pine (Star Trek, Hell or High Water) plays the role on the big screen, while a one shot from Tim Seeley and Christian Duce tells a brand-new comic book tale.

“Steve and Diana’s longtime friendship, despite their coming from separate worlds, is inspiring,” Seeley tells DC. “But in this story, we’ll get a chance to see Steve come face to face with a villain from Wonder Woman’s past, who he’ll have to overcome without her help. I’m excited to dive back into the life of Steve Trevor, and give him a new and crazy adventure of his own.”

The DC Comics June 2017 solicitations also sees the launch of the crossover event “Dark Days,” written by Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV with art by Andy Kubert, Jim Lee and John Romita Jr. The event kicks off with two June one-shots, “The Forge” and “The Casting”.

“‘Dark Days’ posits a mystery that traces all the way back to when I started on ‘Batman,'” says Snyder. “I’ve hinted at them over the years with Easter eggs and clues. This is a mystery that literally begins at the dawn of man and spans generations of heroes and villains and ultimately leads to huge revelations about the past, present and future of the cosmology of DC. I couldn’t be more excited for ‘Dark Days’. It’s the prelude to the event we’ve been developing for years.”
