A new Doctor Who trailer teases Peter Capaldi’s final season

A new Doctor Who trailer has just materialized and, in the player below, you can take a look at the upcoming tenth modern season. It’s set to premiere April 15 at 9:00pm ET/PT on BBC America. The episode will be followed by the domestic debut of the first episode of Class, a Doctor Who spinoff set at the series’ Coal Hill Academy. Peter Capaldi himself makes an appearance as the Doctor in the first episode, titled “For Tonight We Might Die.”

Doctor Who series 10 will be the third and final series starring Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor. It  will also introduce Pearl Mackie as Bill Potts, the Doctor’s new traveling companion. Matt Lucas returns as Nardole, who previously debuted in the Christmas special “The Husbands of River Song” and who returned the following year for the most recent episode, “The Return of Doctor Mysterio.”

Doctor Who, which began broadcasting on BBC America in 2005, follows the Doctor, an alien from a race called the Time Lords whose home planet is Gallifrey, is created by Sydney Newman (The Avengers), and Executive Produced by Russell T. Davies (Torchwood), Julie Gardner (Torchwood), Steven Moffat (Sherlock), Phil Collinson (Coronation Street), Piers Wenger (How I Live Now), Beth Willis (Doctor Who Confidential), Brian Minchin (Wizards vs. Aliens), Caroline Skinner (Our Girl), and Mal Young (Desperate Scousewives).

Domestically, Doctor Who fans have a chance to catch the premiere on the big screen. Fathom Events has a special screening of the first episode planned for Monday, April 17 and Wednesday, April 19. Showings begin at 7:00pm both nights and will see the first season 10 episode paired with the first episode of the new spinoff series, Class.
