Marvel’s Inhumans Movie Vanishes from Release Schedule

Marvel’s Inhumans movie has been removed from the studio’s schedule of upcoming releases

The future of Marvel’s Inhumans movie is uncertain today as updates to Walt Disney Pictures‘ distribution schedule have removed the film from the schedule altogether. Originally slated for release on July 12, 2019, the project was believed to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s “Phase Four.” The Inhumans movie’s absence is not wholly unexpected, however, as Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently suggested that the addition of Jon Watts’ Spider-Man: Homecoming and Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man and the Wasp to the MCU slate would delay the big-screen debut of Marvel’s royal family.

Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and introduced in the pages of “Fantastic Four” #45 back in 1965, The Inhumans were regulars in that series for decades before being given a high-profile mini-series in the late ’90s and they’ve been very active in the Marvel Universe ever since. Given their powers by the Terrigen Mists, the powerful Inhumans have a wide array of powers ranging from the life-like and constrictive hair of Medusa to the destruction-causing voice of their king Black Bolt.

Although no specific details have been announced to such an effect, Guardians of the Galaxy star Vin Diesel has, in the past, teased on social media that he may have a connection to the Inhumans movie.
