There’s a pretty heartwarming post that just hit Ryan Reynolds’ Instagram. Below, you can check out another behind-the-scenes look at the Deadpool set, which happens to feature a very special young visitor. Thanks to Make-A-Wish, Tony Acevedo got to tour the Vancouver set of the 20th Century Fox Marvel Comics adaptation. He even got to become the Merc with a Mouth himself!
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
Ryan Reynolds stars as the title character alongside TJ Miller as Weasel, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Morena Baccarin as Copycat and Ed Skrein as Ajax. The film will also feature the mutant Colossus, though Daniel Cudmore has confirmed he will not appear as the character.
Tim Miller is directing the movie from a script by Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Confirmed to be rated R, Deadpool is scheduled for a release on February 12, 2016.
Tony Acevedo asked Make A Wish Foundation if he could meet Deadpool. I wasn’t expecting him to sneak the mask, put on the gloves, smile… and then beat Deadpool about the face, arms and jugular with blazing speed. Tony’s next fight is with Hodgkin’s Disease. Hodgkin’s Disease best be wearing its brown pants. Huge thanks to @makeawishamerica
