First Look at Bucky Barnes in Captain America: Civil War

With principal photography on Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Civil War already in full swing at Pinewood Atlanta Studios, it seems that Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson’s search for Bucky/Winter Soldier will bear fruit as actor Sebastian Stan has posted a set pic on Instagram of his character in the same black coat/baseball cap he wore incognito in the post-credits scene of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

In Anthony Mackie’s brief appearance as Wilson during the party scene in Avengers: Age of Ultron, he alludes to his continued search for Bucky while Cap (Chris Evans) is busy with his avenging duties, and although there are other plot lines in motion for Civil War, we have a feeling Stan’s journey to reclaim his humanity will figure prominently amidst the flurry of other super heroics.

Besides Stan, the massive ensemble for Captain America: Civil War is currently set to include Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Robert Downey Jr., Martin Freeman, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Daniel Brühl, Frank Grillo, Emily VanCamp, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, William Hurt and Chadwick Boseman.

Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, causing two factions to side with Iron Man or Captain America, while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo with a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (the team behind Winter Soldier and the upcoming two-part Avengers: Infinity War), Captain America: Civil War hits theaters and IMAX on May 6, 2016.
