Michael B. Jordan Teases The Fantastic Four’s Costumes

Some things never change, and for Marvel’s first family, The Fantastic Four, one of those things is their costumes, which remained mostly unchanged since their creation in 1961. Michael B. Jordan, who will take on the role of Johnny Storm in next year’s reboot, has been very vocal about differences in the upcoming film from its source material and now he’s got another thing to add to that list: the costumes.

Speaking with ABC News, the actor teased the new look, which he referred to as “containment suits” as opposed to the expected “spandex.”

“It’s a new look. We are all in containment suits,” he said. “The costume process definitely took some time to get in and out of that thing, especially since I was bulking up. It was a little more snug during filming. We got through it man. It was a process, but we did it. It was hard work.”

It certainly makes sense for Jordan’s character, The Human Torch, to be housed in a containment suit, but what about the other lead characters? Sound off with your thoughts on Jordan’s latest comments below!

Jordan is joined by Jamie Bell, Kate Mara and Miles Teller who will play the titular team in the upcoming film. Toby Kebbell will also appear as Victor Von Doom along with Reg E. Cathey as Dr. Franklin Storm and Tim Blake Nelson as Harvey Elder, aka The Mole Man. Directed by Josh Trank, The Fantastic Four is set for release on August 7, 2015.
