UPDATE: Donal Logue Has Not Been Offered Gotham Lead

Donal Logue Rumored to Have Been Offered Gotham LeadOn the heels of word yesterday that the series has plans to incorporate familiar Batman villains, comes the rumor, via Latino Review, that FOX's "Gotham" series has offered the leading role of James Gordon to "Copper" and "Sons of Anarchy" star Donal Logue.

No stranger to comic book projects, Logue has appeared in big screen adaptations like Ghost Rider and Blade.

Under development from "The Mentalist" creator Bruno Heller, "Gotham" will focus on a young Gordon in Gotham City years before Bruce Wayne puts on the Batman cape and cowl, though it has been said that a young Bruce (roughly 12 years old) will appear in the series as well. The pilot episode will be directed by Danny Cannon.

UPDATE: Logue has now posted the following on his Twitter feed, denying Latino Review's report:

"Not true!" he writes back to a fan asking about his potential involvement with the series. "I wish-would be awesome (but who could top Gary Oldman?) From what I heard, Gotham catches Gordon in his late 20's."
