The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and RoboCop Head to Comic-Con

Columbia Pictures has just announced that it will be hosting panels on Friday, July 19 for several of their major upcoming releases including The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and RoboCop.

In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker’s (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Talent said to be in attendance include director Marc Webb, stars Andrew Garfield, Jamie Foxx and Dane DeHaan and producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach.

In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years – and it’s meant billions for OmniCorp’s bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.

Talent in attendance includes director José Padilha and stars Joel Kinnaman, Abbie Cornish, and Samuel L. Jackson.
