Director Rich Moore Would Love to See Tron Appear in Wreck-It Ralph 2

Played by Bruce Boxleitner in 1982’s TRON, the character was actually intended to have a cameo in the first Wreck-It Ralph.

“I can’t specifically remember why that didn’t happen,” Moore explains. “…Of course, with a sequel, I’m hoping that we can find a way to see Tron himself in that movie.”

In addition to appearing as Tron in TRON: Legacy, Boxleitner is currently reprising the role on the animated series “TRON: Uprising” and made a cameo as the character in the video game “Kingdom Hearts II”.

Tron would be the second major video game character that Moore has teased getting an appearance in the sequel. In December, he announced that he’d also like to see Nintendo’s Mario up on the big screen.

Wreck-It Ralph, written by Jennifer Lee and Phil Johnston and featuring the voice talents of John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, Jane Lynch, Alan Tudyk and many more, comes to DVD and Blu-ray on March 5.
