Singer Wanted Lautner for X-Men: First Class

X-Men: First Class producer Bryan Singer said on Monday that he wanted “The Twilight Saga” star Taylor Lautner to play a role in the Summer 2011 film, but that it didn’t work out due to scheduling.

“I wanted Taylor [Lautner] to do it, I really did,” Singer told Blastr. “He’s doing a movie in Pittsburgh called ‘Abduction’ and then he’s got the next ‘Twilight’ movie. We talked about it a lot, he is a friend, and I really wanted to make it work. It just doesn’t look like it’s possible to do it.” Singer did not reveal which character Lautner was up for.

The article also mentioned that Meagan Good is up for a role, but that’s the first we’ve heard of that.

Singer added that he won’t be directing Wolverine 2. “It’s not what I’m going to do right now, the next project for me next year, in London, is ‘Jack the Giant Killer’ that is set in the 1300s and it’s very fun. It will be a big movie.”

To be directed by Matthew Vaughn, the confirmed cast members of X-Men: First Class are James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Alice Eve, Nicholas Hoult and Caleb Landry Jones.
