Spider-Man 4 Cut Easter Egg Could’ve Set Up a Fan-Favorite Character’s MCU Debut

Spider-Man 4 cut an easter egg that could’ve set up a fan-favorite MCU debut. William Dixon, a graphics assistant and prop modeler who worked on Spider-Man: Brand New Day, shared prop details in the movie on X.

Among them was a The Coffee Bean card, which points to Harry Osborn, a major Spider-Man character. In the post, Dixon shared, “I also designed a card for The Coffee Bean, a regular hangout spot for the gang back during the 60s & 70s Spider-Man comics. I like to imagine Peter was handed this by someone trying to promote The Coffee Bean, and he quickly forgot about it. He’s a Delmar’s loyalist.”

As stated in the prop modeler’s post, this coffee shop was frequently visited by Osborn, Peter Parker, Mary Jane, and Gwen Stacy. The reason this cut prop points to Harry Osborn is related to the comics, where he left Oscorp to buy and run the coffee shop.

Why Harry Osborn might make more sense for the MCU’s Spider-Man franchise than Norman Osborn

The introduction of Harry Osborn in Tom Holland’s future Spider-Man movies would make perfect sense among fans. In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Norman Osborn and the Green Goblin were already introduced. Unlike Goblin’s revenge on the web-slinger, Harry Osborn’s would be far more personal.

In the franchise, the younger Osborn and the web-slinger are best friends. After finding out that his best friend killed his father, Harry seeks revenge. This makes him a more powerful villain than his father, as he knows Peter on a more personal level than Norman ever did.

Moreover, in Brand New Day, Peter Parker gets a new start. Since Harry and Peter’s brotherhood began during their university era, introducing the young Osborn as the new villain in the franchise would be a perfect way for the character to make his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
