A familiar figure has been confirmed as the voice of Luke Skywalker in the LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian movie. The news comes as a welcome surprise for Star Wars fans.
According to a recent update from the Animation Magazine, Eric Bauza has been officially cast to voice Luke Skywalker in the animated movie.
He joins an incredible ensemble of returning fan-favorite cast members, including Gavin Hammon (The Mandalorian), Bill Burr (Migs Mayfeld), David Acord (Grogu/MA-13), David Pasquesi (Majordomo), Amy Sedaris (Peli Motto), Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon), Temuera Morrison (Boba Fett), Nick Nolte (Kuiil), Timothy Olyphant (Cobb Vanth), and Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka Tano).
The special animated series will be available for streaming on Disney+ on the same day that Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu begins streaming. While the movie will explore how Grogu and the Mandalorian come across new challenges in the galaxy, the plot of the animated series will be completely different.

According to reports, the animated movie will retell the stories with a hint of a comedic element, which is expected to make the show appealing to both young and mature audiences alike. Shelby Young has also unveiled a brand new trailer for the animated series during the recent D23 event.
LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian is heavily adapted from The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. Directed by Chris Buckley, the animated special is created by George Lucas and is written by Michael Price.
Incidentally, Price is also one of the executive producers for the movie. His fellow executive producers include Keith Malone, James Waugh, Jill Wilfert, Jacqui Lopez, Jason Cosler, and Josh Rimes.
