X-Men: Sadie Sink Gives Huge Update About Reboot Movie & Her MCU Character’s Future

Sadie Sink has shared a significant update on her MCU future and the X-Men reboot movie. The former Stranger Things star recently made her Marvel movie debut with Spider-Man: Brand New Day alongside Tom Holland.

Sadie Sink plays the iconic X-Men character Jean Grey in Brand New Day, and she’s going to have a larger role in the MCU moving forward. Speaking with Variety, she revealed what fans can expect from her character in the reboot movie by Jake Schreier.

When asked about Jean Grey’s return with the X-Men movie, Sink said, “Yes, she will. It’s been really exciting all the conversations we’ve had, and I feel really lucky that I have this introduction through Spider-Man and [her] backstory. I think that’s what X-Men is all about, too. The more I’ve gotten into it and researched, what makes them special is that they are all incredibly flawed and maybe have done bad things.”

She emphasized the aspect of X-Men characters’ powers and their moral complexities. “And they have to find their relationship to their powers. Because it’s not like they’ve asked for this or that these strengths make their lives easier; they make them a lot harder, actually. So, knowing Jean’s struggle will be important in the future of her character and where she goes, just makes her really well-rounded, which I’m excited for.”

Who else is starring in the MCU X-Men movie with Sadie Sink?

Sadie Sink also shared her thoughts on the recent castings for the X-Men reboot movie in the MCU. Following the news of Samara Weaving getting picked for Emma Frost, it was revealed that Heartstopper star Kit Connor has been cast as Scott Summers/Cyclops. However, an official announcement from Marvel has yet to arrive on these two casting updates.

When asked if she’s met any of her rumored castmates, Sink replied, “I have not, but I hope to very soon. I love the idea that it’s going to be a really awesome ensemble. I can’t wait. I’m getting super, super pumped about it.”

Besides Weaving and Connor, Sadie Sink is the only confirmed cast member for the X-Men reboot movie so far. Rest of the characters are yet to be finalized with other rumored candidates.

Last month, one of the reliable insiders claimed that Beef star Charles Melton is being eyed to play Beast/Dr. Hank. Similarly, there was another speculation claiming that IT star Bill Skarsgård might portray Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men movie.

However, fans should take all the unverified reports and leaks with a grain of salt at the moment.

Jake Schreier’s X-Men reboot movie is expected to hit theaters at some point in 2028.
