According to My Time To Shine Hello on X, Tony Stark/Iron Man will return in Avengers: Secret Wars. Tony Stark notably died in Avengers: Endgame after sacrificing himself to destroy Thanos and his army.
How can a dead Tony Stark appear in Avengers: Secret Wars? Stark is rumored to appear in Avengers: Doomsday as a variant played by Robert Downey Jr., who played Iron Man for over a decade in the MCU. Furthermore, Avengers: Doomsday will allegedly feature a final battle between Iron Man and Doctor Doom.
Downey shocked the entire Marvel community with his return to the MCU as Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom. The Oscar winner is set to play Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars will serve as the farewell to Marvel’s Multiverse Saga. Doomsday is first and will showcase the Avengers, New Avengers, Wakandans, the Fantastic Four, and the original X-Men teaming up to face Doctor Doom.
Similar to previous Avengers movies, Doomsday features a large ensemble cast. Some of the headliners include Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Letitia Wright as Shuri/Black Panther, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Patrick Stewart as Charlex Xavier/Professor X, Ian McKellen as Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, and Chris Evans as Steve Rogers.
Anthony and Joe Russo will direct Avengers: Doomsday from a screenplay by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely. The Russo Brothers will also direct Secret Wars.
Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18, 2026. Meanwhile, Secret Wars arrives one year later on December 17, 2027.
