Terminator vet Linda Hamilton has once again opened up about her experience working on Terminator: Dark Fate, which had a disappointing box office performance during its theatrical run in 2019. Despite this, the sixth installment to the iconic sci-fi franchise currently holds a fairly good Audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with a Popcornmeter score of 82%.
What will Linda Hamilton change in Terminator: Dark Fate?
During a recent interview with ComingSoon, Hamilton was asked if she was happy with how Terminator: Dark Fate turned out creatively. Even though, she only saw the movie once since she doesn’t really like to watch herself in her previous works, Hamilton believes that Dark Fate should have showcased more of the characters’ humanity.
“I thought there should have been a few pauses where you really see the humanity,” she said. “It was just maybe a little overwhelming and maybe not quite enough real moments. Just a slight pause, you know, slow it down, see the cost, you know what I mean? See the cost that the characters pay. But anyway, that’s just a style thing, you know?”
In addition, the acclaimed actress also confirmed that she did like working on the movie, especially getting the chance to bond with co-stars Mackenzie Davis and Natalia Reyes.
Hamilton added, “Although I am not necessarily the judge to distance myself from it. I mean, I have to say that on that film, I was just so 150% [with it] being my legacy — Terminator [as] kind of the bookends of my career. So I really jumped in and looked after that character. I loved Mackenzie [Davis], and I loved Natalia [Reyes]. I’ve never felt so bonded with two other actors in a film. So in that way, it was beautiful, and I liked it.”
