The Batman: Part II Filming Date Window Reportedly Set

After recently being hit with a delay, it sounds as though a new The Batman: Part II filming date window has been set.

World of Reel has reported that the upcoming DC Studios sequel, which will release on October 2, 2026, is likely planned to start shooting in the United Kingdom “around February or March of 2025.” The report also states that the script for The Batman: Part II has yet to be completed and given to DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn as of this time.

Little is known about the plot of The Batman: Part II so far. The first film did tease the Joker and leave the Riddler alive at Arkham, so one or both of these iconic antagonists could make a return.

Who will star in The Batman: Part II?

The Batman Part II is once again being directed by Matt Reeves. Robert Pattinson will return as The Dark Knight/Bruce Wayne, while further casting has not been announced at this time. A spin-off series, The Penguin, that follows Colin Farrell’s Oswald Cobblepot is also releasing in 2024.

“Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman, striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City,” reads the first film’s synopsis. “With only a few trusted allies — Alfred Pennyworth, Lt. James Gordon — amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens.”
