Video game director Hideo Kojima is a known lover of cinema, as the lengthy cutscenes in Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding will attest to. The latest movie that the legendary Japanese creator has seen is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and unlike Captain Marvel, the director had high praise to share.
What did Hideo Kojima think of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
“Went to see Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 at IMAX 3D theater. Boy, I can’t believe it’s been already 9 years since the 1st! Always enjoy the high-speed dolly shot,” Hideo Kojima gushed on his Twitter account.
Kojima then broke down the trilogy’s thematic structure, praising director James Gunn’s writing and directing throughout the movies.
“1st was about Peter and his mom, encountering [loser] friends, and the 2nd was about Peter and his dad, [the] bond between members and growths, and this time is about the past of [Rocket Raccoon] and each member’s growth and future. The perfect structure for the trilogy.”
Kojima showed off his Guardians merch and viewing experience, which you can check out below.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is now playing in theaters, so you can make like Hideo Kojima and see it for yourself.
