John Krasinski Announces A Quiet Place Part III in the Works

Because one does not simply expand the mythology of a world and then leave it there, A Quiet Place Part III will continue the adventures of the Abbott family. John Krasinski made the announcement during ViacomCBS Investory Day, as reported by Deadline. Though he announced no other details, Krasinski will presumably write and direct again. And possibly find a way for his dead patriarch Lee to get a scene or two as flashback or dream sequence.

Although the ending of A Quiet Place Part II had daughter Regan broadcast nationwide the frequency to kill the sound-detecting aliens, the creatures presumably have nests all over the world. It should take more than one broadcast to kill them all. Meanwhile, the sequel also introduced a group of predatory, feral humans who live along the coast. And unlike the monsters, they can presumably swim.

A Quiet Place Part III will be a separate project from the previously announced untitled spinoff. Pig‘s Michael Sarnoski remains attached to that one. Some have speculated that that film will deal more with the earlier stages of the alien invasion, like the crowd-pleasing opening sequence in Part II. All we officially no for certain is that it takes place in the same universe. There’s a lot of room to play there.
