Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Movie Poster Debuts; Trailer Tomorrow

It’s time to take Sega’s premiere franchise for another theatrical spin. The Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie poster is here, heralding the film’s arrival in April. Ever since the Easter bunny movie Hop, Spring has been kind to road-trip flicks partnering James Marsden with a CG animal. And this time around, at least three will come to the screen. Naturally, Ben Schwartz’s Sonic returns. Colleen O’Shaugnessy’s Tails saw a tease at the end of the first film, and gets bumped up to major character status here. Idris Elba also joins as Knuckles the echidna, who will antagonize the heroes alongside Jim Carrey’s returning Dr. Robotnik.

In the sequel, Robotnik, who will be renamed Dr. Eggman per the character’s original Japanese name, returns from the mushroom planet after three months. Now more literally resembling his game counterpart, he brings with him Knuckles, as the two seek an emerald that can build or destroy whole civilizations. Meanwhile, Sonic meets Tails, and the two fly high. Check out the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie poster below:
