Jaimie Alexander Teases a Potential Role in the Red Sonja Reboot

A few months after drafting Hannah John-Kamen to headline its Red Sonja reboot, Millennium may be courting another MCU alum to join the movie’s cast. Earlier today, Jaimie Alexander posted a photo on her Instagram stories that shows the title page for the reboot’s screenplay, which indicates that the studio has her in mind for a role in the film. Check out the image (via ComicBook.com) below.

The image doesn’t offer any clues as to which character Alexander is looking to play. However, it does confirm that following years of false starts, a completed script for the movie finally exists. The Red Sonja reboot faced a particularly nasty set of behind-the-scenes difficulties in 2019 surrounding the involvement of Bryan Singer, who has been accused of sexual misconduct by several individuals. But later that year, Joey Soloway replaced Singer in the director’s chair. And back in February, Tasha Huo joined the film as a co-writer.

As of now, none of the major trade publications have confirmed Alexander’s casting, so things could still go either way. Regardless, she definitely has the sword-and-sorcery chops needed for a project like Red Sonja. Alexander previously played Lady Sif in Thor and Thor: The Dark World and is expected to reprise her role in Thor: Love and Thunder next year. She also starred on NBC’s Blindspot, which ended its five-season run last year.

Millennium still hasn’t announced a release date for the Red Sonja reboot.
