Zack Snyder’s Justice League: Justice Is Gray Imax Screenings Set

Ever since Zack Snyder’s Justice League got the greenlight, the director has said that the black-and-white Imax version remains his preferred, “ultimate” version of the movie. And some laughed at the Imax aspect ratio on HBO Max. To many, it seemed pointless if the film never screened that way. Well, now it will. But the only way to see Zack Snyder‘s Justice League: Justice Is Gray Edition on the ultra-big screen is to be in one of three cities on July 19th. And to win tickets in a charity raffle.

As announced recently on Twitter, the raffle will be conducted, like previous Justice League raffles, via Prizeo:

A $20 donation or more buys at least one chance to win a pair of tickets in the city of one’s choice between New York, Los Angeles, and Austin. All donations, as usual, go to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Each screening remains under social distancing protocols and will “sell out” at 25% capacity.

The “Justice Is Gray” edition of the film exists primarily because Snyder utilized a monochrome version in the editing room. Like directors of previous films with black-and-white bonus editions, like Mad Max: Fury Road, he came to prefer that version. In the case of Justice League, the intense blacks and whites also give the movie a feel of a black-and-white reprint comic. For those unable to attend the screenings, this version remains available on HBO Max.
