We already knew that Taika Waititi was re-assembling a few forgotten MCU players for Thor: Love and Thunder. But last month, Tessa Thompson teased that the sequel would feature some other fan-favorites characters that we still didn’t know about. Now, we can officiallt add Karen Gillan’s name to that list. According to ScreenCrush, Gillan is returning to play Nebula in Love and Thunder.
Gillan recently shared an Instagram story that announced her arrival in Australia, where Love and Thunder is planning to shoot. After a few fans noticed that she also cut her hair short, they immediately began asking if Nebula had a role in the sequel. Gillan answered, “I cut it the other day in preparation for Nebula, so that we don’t have to get so much hair into the bald cap because I have so much hair, it’s unbelievable. It’s just so thick.”

The last time we saw Nebula in Avengers: Endgame, she was onboard the Milano with the remaining Guardians of the Galaxy as well as Thor himself, who decided to tag along on some of their cosmic adventures after taking care of Thanos. Nebula isn’t the only member of Marvel’s spacefaring superhero team who’s coming back for Love and Thunder. Chris Pratt is also expected to reprise his role as Peter Quill/Star-Lord in the film. The cast is currently quarantining in Sydney before cameras can start rolling.
Thor: Love and Thunder hits theaters on May 6, 2022.
