Later this month, Netflix is kicking off a new era for the Transformers by taking the Autobots and the Decepticons to the past. Hasbro, Rooster Teeth, and Netflix have joined forces for Transformers: War For Cybertron Trilogy – Siege, the first installment of a brand new animated series. The CGI series takes its primary inspiration from the classic Transformers: Generation 1 designs, but with a much darker storyline.
Netflix has dropped the final trailer for Transformers: War For Cybertron Trilogy – Siege, which finds the Autobots on the verge of defeat. Optimus Prime even openly wonders whether he’s doomed his race to extinction by challenging Megatron and the Decepticons. However, Megatron is already in possession of the Allspark, Cybertron’s source of life and power. With it, Megatron can forcibly “reformat” the Autobots and bring them under control. Optimus’ only hope may involve destroying Cybertron itself in order to save his followers.
