Warner Bros. Halts The Matrix 4 & The Batman Over Coronavirus Fears

There’s no escape from the impact of the novel coronavirus, and neither Neo nor Batman are immune. Via VarietyThe Matrix 4 is the latest big budget film to go on hold due to the current pandemic.

According to the report, Warner Bros. executives “thought it was the best move for the safety of all involved to delay the shoot indefinitely.” The Matrix sequel began filming in San Francisco last month, before moving to Berlin. The United States’ European travel ban also played a role in the studio’s decision to halt production. Additionally, there’s no indication when filming will resume or if the delay will affect The Matrix 4‘s 2021 release.
