Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge Trailer Promises Blood & Bad Language

Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge Trailer Promises Blood

In 1995, Mortal Kombat: The Journey Begins was the first animated feature set within the MK universe. However, The Journey Begins was pretty tame compared to the upcoming animated film, Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge. Now, the new Scorpion’s Revenge trailer is going full Red Band for Mortal Kombat‘s first-ever R-rated film.

As the title implies, the focus is on Hanzo Hasashi, a warrior in the Shirai Ryu ninja clan. After Hanzo and his family were murdered, he made a deal in the Netherrealm with Quan Chi to become Scorpion. However, that deal may come back to haunt Quan Chi in the present. Scorpion is no one’s fool, and he’ll learn the truth soon enough.

Essentially, the movie is a remix of the original MK storyline. Additionally, the video teases a potentially gory demise for Liu Kang when he faces Goro. There’s also plenty of “bad language,” as promised in the trailer itself.

Patrick Seitz will headline the film as the voice of Scorpion. Joel McHale also stars as Johnny Cage, with Jennifer Carpenter as Sonya Blade, and Jordan Rodrigues as Liu Kang. Additionally, Steve Blum co-stars as Sub-Zero alongside David B. Mitchell as Raiden.

Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge will hit digital on April 12. The Blu-ray and DVD release will follow on April 28.
