Taika Waititi Says Thor: Love and Thunder Shoots In August

Thor: Love and Thunder is one step closer to officially filming. In a recent interview with The Wrap, director Taika Waititi confirmed a month for production to start on his follow up to Thor: Ragnarok.

“I’ve just finished shooting this film, a sports film in Hawaii with Michael Fassbender,” said Waititi. “In August, I start shooting another Thor film.”

The next Thor sequel was announced at Comic-Con last year. Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie) will both return.  Natalie Portman will once again reprise the role of Jane Foster and claim the power of Thor as well. There’s also a rumor that former Batman, Christian Bale is possibly joining the cast

Filming will likely take place in Australia, as previously reported. Waititi has already promised that the sequel will be even wilder than Ragnarok.

“I think we’re gonna double down a lot on that and have it bigger, bolder and brighter,” said Waititi. “There’s just gonna be some really crazy stuff in the film.”

Thor: Love and Thunder will hit theaters on November 5, 2021
