Jon Favreau Is Down to Make a New Star Wars Holiday Special

It seems that Jon Favreau is really having fun working into the Star Wars franchise. Now that his The Mandalorian series is just a few weeks away, Favreau is still surprised by the fact that he is actually creating something within the Star Wars universe. And he revealed all his enthusiasm while speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the Saturn Awards.

“It is really fun,” Favreau said. ” The whole cast is having a blast. And look, we all got to do Star Wars. The bottom line for me is that I’ve never thought this would be even in the cards when I was a little kid watching the first film. And now here we are telling you stories with a bunch of people who already worked with Star Wars like the people at LucasFilm and LEM and Dave Filoni. They are sort of indoctrinating us into understanding the depth of the genre.”

Favreau went on to add that he would like Disney+ to let him tackle a Star Wars Holiday Special, which is admittedly polarizing the fans.

“I would love to do someday, maybe on Disney+, we’ll do a Holiday Special too,” Favreau added. “Wouldn’t that be wonderful? I gotta pitch that to them. We’ll see. If you wanna see a Holiday Special, let Disney+ know!”

Even though not all the Star Wars fans liked the Star Wars Holiday Special from 1978, the time may be right to bring a little more of a sense of humor in the franchise. And Jon Favreau would be just the person to do the job. You can check this part of the interview in the player below.
