It’s a little bit unexpected, but it seems that people who are not caught up on the Marvel Cinematic Universe actually exist. And they even fail to recognize a well-known actor such as Tom Holland portraying Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Yes, that’s what happened on Jeopardy!, when three contestants had trouble recognizing the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man under the mask.
“This actor returns as Peter Parker in ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ trying to enjoy a vacation while battling new foes in Europe,”Alex Trebek said, after showing footage of Tom Holland from the upcoming movie. The answers were far from being right. The first contestant named Amazing Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield. The second suggested Tobey Maguire, who portrayed Peter Parker in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, while the final contestant didn’t even try a guess.

In spite of the three contestants who failed to name the actor who returns as Peter Parker, many will recognize him when Spider-Man: Far From Home opens in theaters tonight. The latest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will mark the fifth time for Holland wearing Peter Parker’s shoes. The British actor made his debut as Spider-Man in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. He then reprised the character in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.
