Is Spider-Man in space after Brand New Day?
The post-credits scene at the end of Spider-Man: Brand New Day has left fans curious about what’s next for the webslinger. The clip showed Ned’s Spidey Tracker suddenly showing that Peter Parker is in outer space. Since there was no additional scene with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in space, the post-credits clip has since given rise to many theories speculating what the tracker could mean.
While some theories suggest the tracker could be glitching, others believe Peter could actually be in space on a mission. Besides, we already know that SWORD’s base is out there, so Fury could have taken him there. However, many speculate that sending Tom Holland’s Peter Parker into space is likely a plotline to have him sit out Doomsday.
According to previous reports, Holland was not available during the filming of Avengers: Doomsday. The actor was busy shooting Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day at the time. So, keeping Peter out of space would explain his absence during the highly anticipated battle with Doctor Doom across multiple Earths.
Besides this, there is another theory that suggests Tobey Maguire’s possible future appearance in the MCU. According to this theory, it wasn’t Tom Holland’s Peter Parker that Ned’s tracker picked up in space, but Maguire’s. Additionally, there have been rumors that Maguire will return as Spider-Man in Avengers: Doomsday. However, as always, there have been no official reports about his involvement in the movie.
