What happened in Blue Lock Chapter 343?
The previous chapter, titled “Vivien Hugo,” begins with a flashback to two years ago, where Hugo is explaining a strategy to his teammates. After they tell him how intense his strategy is, Hugo realizes not everyone thinks the same way and begins hunting for a world-class striker. He acknowledges Noel Noa’s talent, but doesn’t see himself winning the World Cup four times with him.
As days pass by, Hugo tells another striker, Gabriel, that he’s too slow to become the world’s best, which he doesn’t take lightly. Just as he’s about to punch Hugo, Loki jumps in and deflects Gabriel’s hand. During the meeting, their coach introduces Loki to the team, who is just advancing from lower levels.
Loki addresses the team and says that he’s going to win the World Cup a few times, and anyone who can’t keep up with him should leave. While other players are taken aback, Hugo admires his arrogance and believes that Loki is destined to be number one. During a later practice session, when Hugo talks about wanting to win the World Cup four times, Loki laughs and says he has never met anyone with the same ambition as him.
Back to the match in the present, Hugo passes by Loki, which shocks Isagi. Soon, two more French players join Hugo as they close in on the middle. In a shocking move, Hugo dribbles through Blue Lock while his teammates serve as a distraction. Kunigami catches up and tries to block him. But Loki comes from behind, working in tandem with Hugo.
As Hugo launches the ball towards the goalpost, Loki flashes forward. Aiku desperately runs to stop Loki and even considers tackling him at the risk of a foul.
