What happened in One Piece Chapter 1171?
In the previous chapter, “Ragnir,” Gaban and Jarul are stunned by Elbaph’s “Treasure” fruit that Loki consumed to kill Harald. Jarul admits that the situation could’ve been worse if Loki weren’t there.
Shanks then remembers past conversations with Harald, who wanted to join the God’s Knights to bring a new dawn to Elbaph. Angry at Imu and the Tenryuubito, Shanks grips the mark Imu left on his arm. Gaban calms Shanks, saying that he will get the opportunity to take his revenge.
Loki is grieving, lying next to Harald’s body. Meanwhile, in Mary Geoise, Imu meets the Five Elders and is shaken by Harald’s death. Imu reveals to others that someone in Elbaph has managed to kill Harald, and wonders what mysterious power resides in that place. When Mars offers to go handle the situation, Imu refuses, saying that it will only worsen it.
Imu explains that giants are natural warriors and cannot truly be a part of the World Government, calling Elbaph part of “D”. Back in Elbaph, Loki seeks revenge for Harald’s death and takes giant soldiers with him. This marked the end of the flashback to the day Harald died.
In the present, Hajrudin releases Loki after learning his motivations and apologizes to him, though he still cannot forgive all of Loki’s crimes. Moments later, a monster called Draugr appears in the Underworld, and Loki prepares to fight him. Sanji then carries Gaban out of the place, as Luffy stays back to help Loki find Draugr.
In the close moment, Loki freezes Draugr with Ragnir, using a technique called “Niflheim”. This leaves Luffy completely in awe of Loki’s power.
