Ego calls out Isagi’s latest move
The chapter starts with Isagi meeting with Ego after the first match. Ego asks Isagi what his intention was behind the last play he made during the game. Isagi states that he aimed for his own goal, which Ego labels a good idea to test a new strategy. However, he conveys that such a move can jeopardize the team’s tactics and confuse the players. Ego also says that Isagi should not use it as a method for winning. Isagi apologizes to him but asserts that, because of the reasons Ego stated above, Blue Lock’s soccer strategy isn’t enough for him.
Isagi explains what he is lacking
Isagi states that he has found a way to become the best and challenges Ego to come on the field. Ego instructs him to use his new strategy only in emergencies. To this, Isagi conveys that he also found something in the highlights of the Japan vs Nigeria match. He asserts that he has found his weakness, and beating Noel Noa with physical ability is impossible. He also states that he can’t win against players like Loki, Lorenzo, and Kaiser individually. Isagi explains how geniuses and learners are different, while Ego listens to him.
Isagi wants a new way of soccer
Isagi then states that the Neo Egoist League completely changed soccer. However, to become the ultimate talent, he requires more. Isagi says that he wants to become the best player in the world. Ego then asks Isagi if the God of soccer actually exists. Ego shares that you feel a higher power is in control of the game when luck, environment, and all the other factors work according to you.
Isagi vows to surpass Ego
Ego then dives into his past and says he has experienced such a thing for just seven minutes. He then again asks Isagi if he believes in the God of soccer. Isagi asserts that he does believe that a god might exist, using the events that happened with him at Blue Lock as an example. Ego then ends their discussion, and Isagi tells him to watch him. Isagi says that he will become the best and the God of soccer himself. He even states that he will surpass Ego.
