The Gen V Season 3 release date has become a big talking point following the conclusion of Season 2. Co-created by Eric Kripke, Evan Goldberg, and Craig Rosenberg, this satirical superhero series is a spin-off of The Boys. Set against the backdrop of Godolkin University, a college for people with superpowers, the story follows a group of students who compete against one another to earn the top rank and the opportunity to join The Seven. However, as the students discover Godolkin’s shady secrets, they must choose what kind of heroes they want to become.
Here is what we have learned about Gen V Season 3’s release date and when it could be coming out.
What is the Gen V Season 3 release date estimate?
Gen V Season 3’s release date estimate is 2027 if it gets renewed. This is based on the release pattern followed by past seasons.
The previous seasons of Gen V had a two-year gap between their respective releases. Season 1 premiered in 2023, while Season 2 followed two years later in 2025. Accordingly, if this pattern repeats, the aforementioned 2027 release timeframe becomes all the more likely.
Moreover, each season of Gen V was released one year after a season of The Boys came out. Season 1 came out after The Boys Season 3, released in 2022, and Season 2 came out after The Boys Season 4, released in 2024. Thus, with The Boys Season 5 reportedly planned for 2026, Gen V Season 3 could follow suit in 2027.
However, Gen V Season 3 hasn’t been officially confirmed at the time of writing. Showrunner Eric Kripke revealed in a TheWrap interview that they had a “plan” for the third installment, which they were “psyched” about. He stressed that Season 3’s chances boiled down to sufficient viewership for Season 2.
Gen V news and updates
In a recent interview, Gen V star Derek Luh shared that Marie and Jordan’s romance, set up in Season 2, could be explored in a future installment.
Since Gen V Season 3 hasn’t been confirmed, it’s unclear what the plot will be.
The Gen V Season 3 cast could include Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, and Asa Germann, among others.
The synopsis for Gen V is as follows:
“At America’s only college for superheroes, gifted students put their moral boundaries to the test, competing for the university’s top ranking, and a chance to join The Seven, Vought International’s elite superhero team. When the school’s dark secrets come to light, they must decide what kind of heroes they want to become.”
