The estimated streaming release date for Netflix’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch Season 2 is a big talking point among fans. The show is based on Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell video games by Ubisoft, the studio behind the franchise. The animated series follows the success of the video games and is officially considered canon. Set after the last events in the games, the story follows Sam Fisher enjoying his retired life in rural Poland. But when a current agent needs immediate extraction, Sam falls back into the world of espionage to save their life. However, his stay is longer than he expected.

Derek Kolstad, writer for John Wick and Nobody, serves as the lead writer and creator of the show. Additionally, Ubisoft Film & Television is the primary producer and with animation by FOST Studio.

Netflix is yet to make any announcements for Splinter Cell: Deathwatch Season 2. The show has gained favorable reviews. Furthermore, considering certain unanswered questions, it is likely that the show could return for a sequel season.

Originally, Netflix planned the series to have 16-episode over two seasons (via Variety). However, Kolstad, the lead writer, later revealed that only the first season had been green-lit (via Collider). He said, “The first [season] is officially greenlit, and it’ll be eight episodes. And the bible for that I’m finishing up and sending off.”

So, if the show gets the traction that Netflix is looking for, the streaming giant could renew it for another season.

The Splinter Cell: Deathwatch Season 2 voice cast could feature Liev Schreiber, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Janet Varney, Walles Hamonde, and Joel Oulette.
