In Peacemaker Season 2, Chris finds himself in a reality known as Earth-X that looks like his dream life. But as Episode 6 proves, not everything is what it seems. The episode reveals why this new world has no People of Color and what that means for Adebayo, Harcourt, and the rest of the team.

Why people run after Adebayo in Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 6’s ending?
Episode 6, titled “Ignorance Is Chris,” thrusts Peacemaker into what looks like a perfect version of his life. On Earth-X, people celebrate him as a hero, his father shows him love, his brother Keith remains alive, and his relationship with Emilia Harcourt feels real. For a moment, Chris believes he has finally secured the peace he always wanted.
But cracks quickly surface. A.R.G.U.S. detains Harcourt after agents discover drug residue on her jacket, forcing Chris to intervene. Meanwhile, Adrian Chase meets his alternate self and discovers that this version embraced extremism after drawing inspiration from Chris.
The turning point arrives when Adebayo takes a simple walk. Strangers glare at her with hostility, and soon an entire neighborhood chases her, shouting because she is a Woman of Color. This disturbing moment confirms Harcourt’s earlier suspicion: Earth-X contains no People of Color.
The ending of Peacemaker Season 2, Episode 6 reveals that Chris inhabits Earth-X, a world in DC Comics lore where the Nazis won World War II. The Nazi emblem on the flag, the absence of diversity, and the persecution of Adebayo expose the reality: this supposed dream life rests on systemic oppression and white supremacy.
Earth-X is not new to DC fans. The Arrowverse’s 2017 crossover, Crisis on Earth-X, showed heroes from Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow facing Nazi-controlled versions of themselves. Now, Peacemaker uses the same backdrop to challenge Chris’s choices and set up a potential arc where his crew could become the Freedom Fighters of this world.
Peacemaker Season 2 streams on Thursdays on HBO Max.
