While many powerful heroes and villains experienced a tragic fate in Marvel Zombies, Riri Williams is one of the few who are alive. However, the show doesn’t explain how Riri survived following the events in Episode 1. Naturally, fans are now wondering how she is still alive.

How is Riri Williams Alive in Marvel Zombies’ ending?
A spin-off of a What If…?, Marvel Zombies finally made its way to Disney+ on September 24, 2025. All four episodes of the series dropped together, and the viewers witnessed the brutal deaths of their favorite characters. Since the mini-series holds a TV-MA rating, it didn’t hold back on showcasing violence.
In the first episode, Riri Williams gets bitten by a zombie, but she immediately injects herself with medicine. Upon seeing that Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, is surrounded by zombies, she orders F.R.I.D.A.Y. to get her out of there. After dropping off Kamala in a safe place, F.R.I.D.A.Y. returns for Riri, saying that she won’t lose another owner. Since the series doesn’t show F.R.I.D.A.Y. saving Riri, viewers are made to believe that neither could survive the zombie horde.
In the final episode, Kamala gives in to Scarlet Witch’s demands and lets her take control of her powers. She then wakes up in her home, where everything seems normal and her friends are alive, too. However, in the closing moments, Kamala starts seeing flashes of Riri calling out to her. Riri is seemingly trying to snap Kamala out of her illusion, back to the reality where zombies are still alive.
While it is not clear how, it is obvious that F.R.I.D.A.Y. was able to save Riri, and she didn’t turn into a zombie despite the bite. Riri has always been portrayed as a person with a genius-level intellect, similar to Tony Stark. So, given her talents, she found a way to subdue the infection and return to the battlefield, trying to save her friends. This sets up a story for a possible Season 2, which is yet to be announced.
