All Hints for Robert Pattinson’s Batman to Become DCU Canon in Future

Is there still a chance for Robert Pattinson’s acclaimed The Batman to become a DCU canon? While the newly established DCU could still introduce a new Batman and has gained a good head start with Superman’s success, some factors make fans question the possibilities. They are questioning if there is still a chance for Matt Reeves’ Batman to merge with the new universe.

How Robert Pattinson’s Batman could be DCU canon in future

There are several reasons fans now think The Batman could become canon DCU. Here are some of the reasons and hints that seemingly point toward a shared future.

The Clayface hints

The major hints that brought forth the conversation of Matt Reeves’ universe merging with the DCU came from some things seen on the Clayface set photos. First, many pointed out that Gotham City’s motto and logo were the same as The Batman’s. The same was true for Gotham Gazette. Moreover, fans pointed out other references, like the drug shown in Penguin and similar filming locations. They also noticed a possible flood, all referencing The Batman.

DC seems to be in no hurry for casting Batman

DC may be taking its time because casting Batman is no mean feat. But it also seems that despite so many names thrown into the hat, DC doesn’t seem to be in any hurry to cast a new Batman. Is it because they already have one from the past?

James Gunn has a new way of filling plotholes

Peacemaker season 2’s opening sequence proved that Gunn can simply reshoot a sequence and exchange some key parts. Peacemaker season 2, though originally part of the DCEU, is now a canon DC project. So, filmmakers could do the same with The Batman, especially because the film focused solely on Gotham.

Matt Reeves is actually involved with Clayface as a producer

In what seems quite an interesting twist with some big implications, Matt Reeves is working as a producer on Clayface. Perhaps his Batman world-building could come in handy, or could it be because the upcoming movie is a part of his Batman universe?

With the new hints, it seems that there is still some hope for Matt Reeves’ Batman to be a part of the DCU. If DC does not cast a new Batman soon, fans can be more sure of this.
