Many fans want to know The Toxic Avenger streaming release date now that the unrated film has come out in theaters nationwide. Figuring this out is actually more difficult than most movies due to how gory this splatter film is, to the point that many people have reportedly walked out of screenings due to the amount of blood and guts. When will The Toxic Avenger be available for streaming?
The estimated streaming release date for The Toxic Avenger is early January 2026, which is about four months after its late August 2025 release in theaters.
This is based on the streaming schedule of Terrifier 3, the most recent movie for Cineverse before The Toxic Avenger. Though Terrifier 3 technically came out in September 2024 during film festival called Fantastic Fest, it released in US theaters a month later on October 11. It then took roughly four months for the film to make it on Cineverse’s own streaming platform, ScreamBox, on February 14, 2025. More specifically, that’s a gap of 126 days.
As such, it’s expected that The Toxic Avenger will more or less follow the same trajectory given that the film isn’t projected to make as much as Terrifier 3 did. So doing some math, its streaming date should be around the start of the new year in 2026. That said, this is close enough to the upcoming Christmas holiday season, when many families are home on vacation, that the film could be available for streaming before that time.
It took about two years before The Toxic Avenger, first shown in 2023, was cleared to be in theaters after Cineverse picked it up. Despite being unrated, the movie has received relatively high reviews from critics, getting an 83% on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of writing.
