Everything That’s Different in Peacemaker Season 2’s Alternate Universe

The introduction to the alternate dimension in Peacemaker Season 2 opens up a lot of possibilities for the show and the rest of the DCU. With the appearance of Justice Gang earlier in the episode, the show is now canon. As alternate dimensions go, no two worlds are the same, which is the case in the show, too.

Here’s a breakdown of how the alternate dimension is different from the current one in Peacemaker Season 2.

Spoilers for Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 1!

How is Peacemaker Season 2’s alternate dimension different from DCU

Early in the episode, Chris (Peacemaker) takes Eagly to the Quantum Unfolding Chamber to let him fly for a while since it’s too cold outside. When Eagly doesn’t return even after being called, Chris follows the sound of his screeches to find him scratching a door. A door that looks exactly like his.

It turns out that the mysterious door leads to an alternate dimension where his father is still alive and is nice to him. Instead of being a Nazi-white supremacist, he is kind and fatherly. It isn’t until much later, Chris returns to that reality and finds that even his brother, Keith, is alive. Moreover, all three of them are fighting crimes together as the Top Trio.

The Top Trio are very popular in the alternate dimension and even hold the Key to the City. Chris finds a shelf full of trophies and newspaper cutouts of their achievements. He spends some time with this version of his father and brother, has drinks, and even listens to their happy stories. And to top it off, the alternate version of Chris and Harcourt are dating.

All of this serves as a stark contrast to Chris’s reality.

In the current reality, Peacemaker is not respected by the public, government, or the Justice Gang. Even after he saved the world, he feels that nobody recognizes his capabilities. His brother had died, and he even had to kill his own father. And since Harcourt is in her own downward spiral, his love life feels empty too.

The episode ends with the alternate dimension’s Peacemaker fighting Chris. During the fight, Chris activates the alternate dimension’s Peacemaker’s jetpack and accidentally sends him flying towards a spike on the roof, killing him.
