Nobody 2 is all set to release this week, bringing back the iconic assassin played by Bob Odenkirk. The sequel to the pandemic-era hit, Nobody, will premiere in theatres on August 15, 2025. The original film was an unexpected hit, and with more awareness surrounding the project this time, will Nobody 2 manage to succeed at the box office? What are the early predictions saying?
What are Nobody 2’s opening box office predictions?
Nobody 2 may struggle to unsettle the sleeper hit Weapons, which continues to charm viewers. It may also have to struggle to compete with Disney’s Freakier Friday, which has cult fandom on its side. But still, Bob Odenkirk’s action comedy is expected to earn around $8M – $12M in its opening weekend (via Box Office Pro).
This is much more in comparison to the prequel, which premiered just after the pandemic era, when many were wary of theatres. Nobody earned $6.8M on its domestic weekend, and ended up with an overall haul of $27.5M domestically, and $57 million globally.
It was a hit. But can the sequel live up to it, especially with the movie market much more crowded now?
Will Nobody 2 flop or succeed at the box office?
Despite the tough competition around, Nobody 2’s initial box office numbers seem to be quite good. If the film manages to earn upwards of $10 million on the opening weekend, it can go on to accumulate a decent sum in its full run.
Reports state that the filmmakers made the film on a $25 million budget. If it earns at least as much as the previous movie, they will consider it a hit. Moreover, there has been enough publicity of the sequel, which will give it more visibility.
Final box office prediction numbers are not out yet. But one can predict from the initial numbers that Nobody 2 should be able to succeed at the box office.
