Is Resident Alien Season 5 canceled?
Unfortunately, Resident Alien Season 5 has been canceled.
Season 4, featuring 10 episodes, premiered on June 6, 2025, and concluded on August 8, 2025. Ahead of the fourth season finale, it was confirmed that the show would be coming to an end, and there would be no more follow-ups. Fans were left shocked by this announcement as the show had garnered critical acclaim with an 8/10 rating on IMDb and 98% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Creator Chris Sheridan revealed in his interview with TV Insider last month that he knew Season 4 might be the last during the development process. He stated, “I knew going into it that this was likely going to be our final season. ” Sheridan further added, “Creatively, that was exciting because I knew we could spend the time wrapping up some storylines and driving toward an ending. I’m so proud of how good Season 4 is and especially proud that we were able to finish as strongly as we did, with a finale that is probably my favorite episode of the series.”
On the other hand, lead actor Alan Tudyk stated at SDCC, “It’s not anybody’s fault… our ratings are better than they’ve ever been. And it’s just what the business is doing. There isn’t any money.” Moreover, Alice Wetterlund, who plays D’arcy Bloom on the show, shared, “We’re not being canceled for normal reasons… people are still discovering the show now, like today.”
