Wednesday Season 2 has finally landed on Netflix, and fans are wondering what is going on with her powers. Fans are already aware that Wednesday is no ordinary teenager and harbors a special gift, like all students at Nevermore Academy. So, what are these powerful abilities that she possesses, and what happened to them this season?
Here’s all you need to know.
Wednesday Addams’ powers and abilities explained
Wednesday Addams has psychic abilities and the power of clairvoyance.
In Season 1 of the show, fans saw Wednesday discover her psychic powers, which were still underdeveloped at that time. She would get random bouts of premonitory visions over which she had no control. The visions typically appeared when she touched something connected to the past or the future.
Throughout the show, Wednesday began honing her supernatural skills and discovered that she inherited the ability from her ancestor. Fans learn that her father Gomez’s ancestor, Goody Addams, used to be a famous witch and psychic during her time. However, Wednesday’s mother, Morticia Frump, also possesses this powerful gift.
Similar to Goody Addams, Wednesday is classified as a raven psychic due to her woeful perspective on the world. Later in the show, Morticia warns her daughter that she must learn to control her powers, as ravens have the potential to lose their minds if not trained properly. However, Wednesday is a formidable candidate and managed to master her gifts, which ultimately helped her discover Tyler’s identity as Hyde.

How does Wednesday lose her powers in Season 2?
Wednesday loses her power in Season 2 after she gets a vision of Enid’s death.
During the final moments of Season 2’s debut episode, Wednesday is struck by a vision when Enid touches her. In the vision, Wednesday sees Enid’s gravestone, and her ghost appears to blame Wednesday for her death. While she is in the trance, Wednesday collapses to the ground and has a violent seizure with black tears coming out of her eyes.
The second episode begins with Morticia explaining that the black tears were a sign of “psychic exhaustion.” This occurs when the psychic abuses their powers and uses them without adequate restraint. Morticia then demands that Wednesday give up Goody’s book of spells. She urges Wednesday to be patient and wait for her new spiritual guide.
