Wednesday Season 2 introduced a new Addams family member, Ophelia Frump, the sister of Morticia, who apparently suffered from a tragic fate. The character was not part of Season 1’s narrative and has only recently been introduced, although not fully.
Here is all you need to know about Ophelia Frump in Wednesday Season 2.

Wednesday’s aunt Ophelia Frump’s fate explained
Though a part of the Addams family, Ophelia was not particularly mentioned until Season 2. Morticia revealed in the second season’s Part 1 that her sister Ophelia shared a few traits with Wednesday. This particularly came up when Wednesday saw the vision about Enid and started having side effects, which led to her shedding black tears.
As it turns out, Ophelia went missing 20 years ago after experiencing similar symptoms to Wednesday’s. Her Outcast type was also the same as the titular character. As per Morticia, overusing her powers drove Ophelia to madness.
But the show also hinted that Ophelia spent some time at Willow Hill. There is a chance that she was kept captive in Willow Hill, but most likely she left the facility. Her present whereabouts are unknown, and it is not even clear if she is indeed alive.
Because of her tragic fate, Morticia seems to be very careful about letting Wednesday walk down the same road.
Does Ophelia appear in Season 2?
No, Ophelia does not physically appear in Wednesday Season 2. Instead, she is only mentioned in the second season of the show. But there is still time in the ongoing chapter to bring Ophelia to the screen.
As Ophelia shares the powers of Wednesday, she could also appear as the one who helps Wednesday regain her powers. She could also help in solving the crisis at Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital.
The second part of Season 2, which premieres on September 3, 2025, is expected to reveal more about Aunt Ophelia.
