What Are Fantastic Four 2025’s Box Office Numbers? Opening Week Results

Many Marvel fans are steadily tracking Fantastic Four 2025’s box office numbers, particularly how the reboot is faring worldwide. As we’ve reported earlier, The Fantastic Four: First Steps has performed at about the same level as DC’s Superman overall. Looking into the numbers more deeply, Superman has the edge when it comes to domestic sales in the US, while Fantastic Four 2025 has the advantage when it comes to international sales. While the movie released nationwide on July 25, it has technically been out since July 23 due to early screenings and international debuts in countries like France and India, so it’s about time to look at how much the film has made in its opening week.

How much has The Fantastic Four: First Steps made so far?

Through to July 30, 2025, The Fantastic Four: First Steps has earned a total of at least $241 million at the global box office. In domestic markets, it has has crossed $142 million total, while the international numbers remain at $99 million (adjusted down by $1 million from prior reports).

The latest $142 million for the film’s box office performance in the US and Canada comes from Exhibitor Relations Co. via Bluesky, which shares Fantastic Four 2025 earned $10.4 million on Monday, July 28, and $14.2 million on Tuesday, July 29. This is on top of the $117 million it already earned over its opening weekend, which is the fourth largest debut in 2025 beneath A Minecraft Movie ($162 million), Lilo & Stitch ($146 million), and Superman ($125 million).

That said, the $100M+ opener for the film is still impressive and a return to form for Marvel when compared to its two other major movies this year, Thunderbolts* ($74.3 million) and Captain America: Brave New World ($88.8 million). It also blows every other Fantastic Four film out of the water — 2005’s Fantastic Four earned $56 million in its domestic opener, 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer had $58 million, and 2015’s Fantastic Four only had $25 million. It’s proof that Marvel’s First Family always had the potential to be a top-tier movie franchise.

The $99 million international box office has not been updated since the weekend, though, but the figure should be higher as we head into the film’s second week overseas. Despite having competition with Superman, the Marvel reboot was still able to beat Superman’s total of $95 million in its own opening weekend overseas. This comes mainly by way of an overperformance in Mexico where it earned a whopping $12 million and several European countries, like Italy, France, and the United Kingdom & Ireland. We’ll have to see if it can maintain this momentum in non-US territories.

As for the near future, Fantastic Four 2025 is projected to earn an additional $46.2 million in its second weekend at the domestic box office, as noted by the July 30 report from Box Office Theory. While this is a large 61% drop compared to its debut weekend, that’s largely to be expected for most major films.

By Sunday, August 3, the site estimates that the film were earn a total $206 million in the US and Canada, while noting that it’s hopes “to build on positive word of mouth” as based on its high Rotten Tomatoes ratings (86 from critics and 92 from audiences). It will face some competition, though, from a few debuts this weekend including The Bad Guys 2 and The Naked Gun.

Still, The Fantastic Four: First Steps will most likely remain at the top of the box office charts for several weeks, as the film alongside Superman will gradually find a point of co-existing throughout the August movie schedule. Taken together, the movies show that signs of superhero fatigue can be overcome so long as they are the right films.
