MCU Phase 7 Release Date

MCU Phase 7 Release Date: When Does the Next Marvel Saga Start?

Although Phase 6 has just begun, fans are already speculating about the MCU Phase 7 release date. The next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will start a new saga, and we’re all curious where the superhero franchise will take us next. We don’t know a ton about Disney’s plans for Phase 7 yet, but there’s enough information to theorize about when it might debut.

When will the first MCU Phase 7 movie come out?

Phase 6 is set to conclude with the release of Avengers: Secret Wars, scheduled for theaters on December 17, 2027. That film closes The Multiverse Saga and should offer a clue about the future direction of the MCU.

Marvel Studios has stated that it’s committed to releasing two movies and four Disney Plus series each year. If the company adheres to that cadence, the first Phase 7 film is expected to arrive in 2028. Examining previously blocked-out dates, the most sensible landing spot appears to be July 2028.

A summer window fits Marvel’s rhythm. Black Widow launched Phase 4 in July 2021, and the studio often pairs a midsummer tentpole with a winter follow‑up. Giving Secret War a seven‑month buffer allows audience excitement to rebuild while providing the marketing team time to roll out teasers that frame the next saga’s themes, whether that means mutants (hint, hint) or something entirely new.

Production realities also support this timeline. Big superhero features require at least eighteen months of post-production once the cameras stop rolling. If principal photography begins in early 2027, as would be expected for a July 2028 premiere, Marvel can complete post-production without overtaxing the visual-effects pipeline, which has faced recent delays.

Until Disney publishes its next slate update, all of this remains informed speculation. However, history suggests the studio will not let more than a year pass between MCU movies. For now, July 2028 appears to be the earliest we can expect to see an MCU Phase 7 movie.
