Marvel Phase 1, 2 & 3 Heroes Who May Not Be Recast After Avengers: Secret Wars

Excited to know which Marvel heroes may not be recast after Avengers: Secret Wars? For those unaware, Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, announced that Secret Wars will mark the new beginning in the MCU. While some characters might get recast, here’s a list of heroes who shouldn’t be recast in future MCU projects.

List of characters who shouldn’t be recast after Avengers: Secret Wars

Spider-Man

Tom Holland’s webhead has been part of the Avengers and has dealt with multiversal-level threats in his stand-alone movies. Given his current age, he is likely to stay in the franchise for a long time, unless he willingly decides to quit. His recast seems unlikely, especially since Marvel frequently explores Spider-Man variants in its films, which has ultimately cemented Holland’s status as the MCU spidey.

Doctor Strange

Benedict Cumberbatch’s command of Dr. Strange’s character is well-established, bringing all the mystical and philosophical depths. As his character never seems to grow old, he could stay in the MCU and adapt to newer storylines. He’s too valuable to be recast, as any new actor would take time to establish the foundation Cumberbatch has already built through multiple films.

Thor

Chris Hemsworth’s Thor could possibly do Thor 5 and contribute to other comic storylines after Secret Wars. This will happen only if Marvel doesn’t end his storyline in the Avengers outing.

Shuri

Letitia Wright has brought the smarts, bravery, and innovative spirit to Shuri’s character. She initially started as a supporting character until she took the lead in Black Panther 2, following T’Challa’s death. There’s still more to flesh out in her character arc in future storylines.

Bruce Banner

World War Hulk is highly anticipated among fans. So, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk could bring this project to life, if he is not killed in Secret Wars. Moreover, Hulk has diverse storylines in the comics, which could be adapted as well in the future.

Sam Wilson’s Captain America

Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson started as a sidekick to Captain America. Now, his character has evolved, and he holds Captain America’s mantle. There is still a lot more to explore in his storyline and to capture the challenges of a Black Man carrying forward the star-spangled man legacy.

Wanda Maximoff

Elizabeth Olsen has delivered an outstanding performance as the harbinger of chaos, earning a dedicated fan base in the process. Her extraordinary range, capturing everything from grief to immense power, is remarkable, and fans can’t imagine anyone else in the role. So, Olsen might stay.

Wolverine

Wolverine could possibly appear next in a Deadpool & Wolverine sequel. As Hugh Jackman is perceived to be perfect in the role, it could be hard for Marvel to fill his shoes. However, Marvel also does have plans for X-Men recasting.
